Living alone...

Recently I've been having so much "alone" time for myself. And to be honest, I'm kinda getting used to it. That's pretty big for someone who thinks he won't be able to live a single second alone... Well after a year of training you kinda ease into it. Heh

And so again, I'm here in my room after work (well, really well after workl) Haha.

quick side story:
watching first moms now...season finale. Haha, I've missed so much of the whole season...well right now they're wrapping up everything now... well, as usual...HAPPY HAPPY ENDINGS! HAHAHA... i still think it's kinda cheesy.tanya is sooo pretty...they're gave birth in the same day...tanya is sooo pretty...all the drama stories are resolved...tanya is sooo pretty...well, everyone's happy by the end of the show (which is about now...they're taking pictures...FIRST FAMILY'S CLUB...harhar)... it's probably not gonna have another season...haha i really wanna slaughter the whole season finale, but because of tanya, i'm gonna let it go. haha, great watching you all...looking forward to more tanya tv shows. :L

ok...back to my solitude...enjoying it now...not like i can change much...so if i'm given lemons... make some sorbet! :L

what's up in the next few days??? hmm, got some plans ahead... see how they unfold...

oh, another thing...I have this dare with my best mexican friend Sebastian. Challenged him to be a perfect gentleman until Monday and I'll reward him for it (if he can't then I'll have free lunch next week). And by perfect gentleman, I mean P-E-R-F-E-C-T. No vulgarities, refined gentlemanly attitude, etc etc... kinda big challenge and may I say struggle for him. Haha, and he happily accepted the challenge... see how he'll do... :L

The Perfect latte!!! (post dedicated to Cyril...my good friend and buddy!)

the perfect latte!!! :p

Im soooo happy to be abe to finally make THE perfect latte!!! hahaha... finally found out the trick to it... the aim is to have all three layers seperately... the milk, the coffee and the foam... it's just soooo gratifying to make not only one... but two!!! hahaha... took a snap of it right away to capture the moment hehehe.

well on a side note... my keyboard's acting up... i can't type the letter "l"... if you're wondering how was i able to do that??? it's the power of Ctrl C + Ctrl V.... cut and paste.... so there ya have it... everytime i type the letter l... i'll have to press short cut keys to paste... ingenious but troublesome... argh... need to figure out how to troubeshoot fix (no 'l') this... it's working.... but when it does... it just types llllllllllllllllllllllllllll endlessly... you get the picture....

just finished talking to a good friend... name's Cyril... He was is the math genius of our class... we both were in the math team (got all the way to the finals eh??? hehe ... let me brag a bit... 1st in Division... 7th in Regional i think... and in the Nationals we were first for the first 5-6 qns... the easy ones... haha then the hard ones followed... and by the time we were finished.... we were somewhere in the bottom... but hey, that's Nationals! how many normal public schools could boast that? most are chinese, christian, private and special science public schools... so I am very proud of that one...)

Anyways, back to Cyril... he's a very smart guy... was in the team with him together with Gladys... 3 student team... i heard when i left they replaced both me and gladys...well i heard stories... i didnt quite like who they replaced me with... claims to be a math champ... good for him hehe....

so back to Cyril... last year i got to talk to him online... man, that's one way of catching up with old pals. Talked about stuff back then...and how things are happening now... and then got to a point when i apologised for the not so nice things i did... haha... coz you see back then i was quite a tyrant... :S maybe compensated for my shortness (i believe I was 4'10" then short eh??? I'm 5'4" now...haha short still but improved)... my bestfriend actually told me I was quite a snob too! That I only talked to people I liked... man! I hated me!! hehe... so there I was and confirmed it to cyril... the sad thing is... he said it was kinda true... the horror!!! the horror!!!

so there I was crushed... and he even told me he actually wanted to get to know me better... ya know... hang out... be better friends... but apparently I shut him out! argh... was I such an a** back then? It's almost I don't know that person... Im nice now right??? (you agree right???) ;P

Since we're on this topic... let me tell ya a famous quote from my class...

"Hindi mo kasi nararamdaman ang sakit na nararamdaman ko!!!"

-translation: because you don't feel the pain that I feel!!! (lin can go use eh?)haha

This actually came from one of the tallest guys in my class... coz we were practicing for our speech choir competition...(I was training them)... they were kneeling down on the floor...bent double...and Jefferson (the guy who said this) was actually sick... and (this is horrible) I knew... worst... I didn't care... so I forced him to do the practice with us throwing some insult or two (if i remember correctly)... and he finally said that quote... that will always be remembered... sure to come up in reunions...haha

Alot more horrible things...but will post another time...

So about Cyril... he actually wanted to be a close friend of mine...but I shut him out... and so the resentment continued... we fought in our math practices... during competitions Gladys had to be our refferee and try to reconcile our methodologies in solving our math problems... also, we fell for the same girl... my bestfriend Ann Khresna...another famous line I used with her...

"And I am so stupid... to make the biggest mistake of my life... and that's to fall in love with my bestfriend!"

At the beginning I was actually the bridge for the two of them... coz this guy was torpe (guy who's shy in confessing his feelings for a girl) back then (true...right bro?)... so heped him out with Ann... when all along I also liked her...haha so ya, just to confirm Ann had to turn me down. Our friendship was more important...haha crushed (she said it was cute! @_@ haha) but yeah, I moved on...

So I left for Singapore and never got the chance to resolve all those issues I had with some of my classmates... one guy, Randy, actually said to me (after we talked when I came back for holidays and made it a point to talk to these people) that he was planning to punch me square in the face once I got down the stage when we graduate. He didn't care if I was the valedictorian... he just wanted to hit me back for all those stuff in high school... you can imagine me backing away once he said that to me... but he just laughed and said it was the past... it was highschool... forgotten and forgiven... of course I laughed too... wouldn't wanna piss the guy off again...hahaha joking...

So at least I've resolved most of my conflicts back in high school... hopefully by reunion i'd have rid off almost all of them haha...

Marathon Cleaning part 2!!!

Hello my faithful friends!!! (PART 2 OF MARATHON CLEANING!!!)

Here we go again with another great adventure... part two of my cleaning quest!!! Alright... last night I got soooo sleepy after 6 or 7 am so decided to sleep coz i had work at 11am...since i start at 6pm tomorrow, i have plenty of time tonight... thus I continued!!!

Took some pictures of the stages... (pardon the very lousy pictures...not much I can do with my t630) Anyways, here in the picture above Im waiting for the room to dry up...so I decided to blog about it... so here goes... read on!!! ...

Well that's the look of my room...before everything started... meeeeesssssssyyyy!!! I had to sort so many things... and i believe after cleaning up I'll have to sort them back... but I'm getting ahead of myself...

My clothes were all hung on the corridors... so neatly that it looks like I'm selling tshirts on a mall haha... anyways, the cleaner saw in the morning before I left... she laughed... probably because I have so many (that's not all of it ya know?) Told her Im gonna take it down at night... she said no problem so I left for work... still looks like that now... will move it in once the room is in order...
Part 3: i can't believe i have so much stuff!!! just hiding inside my room!!!


Well, saying that I have A LOT OF STUFF... is kinda down playing it a bit... I have so much things!!! Some of them I don't mind keeping (like the ones given to me on my going away party 6yrs ago before I came here) But some of them... It just startled me why I kept em... old magazines, hundreds of ATM reciepts... etc etc... haha... So my rule for the night...

Part 4: my bed!!!


Well that's one thing I won't be throwing out... one of the things that keep me going tonight is the thought that at the end of this... I'll be sleeping in a clean and tidy room... on a clean comfortable bed... so here's to you my faithful faithful bed!!! \m/

Part 5: alright...niiiiccceeee!!! waiting for it to dry up!!! can u see the sparkle on the tiles??? hehehe


Hahaha... this feels so good... one thing though... someone remind me to never get tiles as flooring... I had to scrub all the dirt in between the tiles!!! Not a very fun thing to do... haha... so now Im just waiting for everything to dry up and I'll continue.. along the way when Im having a break or just feel like it.. i'll pop in and update... alright... back to work...

Yay!!! alrighty!!! Cleaning is done! Organising is done...deco next hehe


Yahoo!!! I feel so satisfied... I've finally (almost) finished something I've been planning for a looong while... My room is clean!!! And new layout! YO!!! haha... gonna do some deco next then... but I'm gonna leave that to tomorrow... It's 10am and I haven't slept! haha! I have about 6hours to sleep before I get ready for work... so yep, off to bed for me... and might I add... a clean comfortable bed! woooO!!!

Marathon overnight

Well Im here in the kitchen... with my tivo and laptop on my kitchen table waiting for my laundry to dry up... a little tired and woozy... here's a view of how i've turned the kitchen from food room to clothes room...

Haha, I hope no one comes in here for tonight and sees what I've done in this room haha...

Well rewind 10 hours ago... I woke up... yes I woke up at 3pm haha. Anyways, watched DOC (a med series... good story, good acting...fairly decent series i say) and at 4pm I thought of what I should do... since I am off today from work... then I thought of doing my laundry...ended up doing my whole rooM! and whoa, feeling's good... but not entirely yet, i haven't really finished... like you see in the picture I'm only half way done. And that's just my laundry. My room's also half way finished. SO tonight (like a lot of other nights) no sleeping for me. I have to finish this by tomorrow before i go to work at 11am. Hmmm...when will my clothes be dry... at about 4am+ should be good to go... then folding...then my room again.

"A man's home is his castle." About time I dust mine off... been looking alot more medieval and less liveable...alrighty...back to work.

just to keep it rolling

I just have to post to keep this going... been thinking alot but can't put them up here in this blog... maybe I will when I really can. Well, just some random thoughts...

• miss home... i hope i can just make things work and everything will be just fine...
  

• lasik surgery! (watching the swan... don't ask) i wanna have that! you know just be able to see the alarm clock when you wake up in the morning!

• read something from a friend's blog... i know how my friend feels... wanting to have a person to care for you... hang out with... talk to whenever... listen... play... but i guess that person is elusive (just like what my friend said) (disclaimer: hope i dont hurt anyone with this thought...just thinking)

• my room is soooooo hot... and messy... gotta get it together! argh... just yesterday it was raining but i couldn't enjoy the refreshingly cool air it brought coz I couldn't open my window without getting my bed and table wet... ahhh...i want a new room!

• it's not all that fun living here in Singapore (sorry for the toes im stepping on right now). For years I recommend staying and living here to many of my friends...but now I just don't know... Im just not a big fan of having such a rigid life... Can't hang out with friends if you don't have any good reason... if you don't have anything in particular to talk about or plan, or any studying to do people either feel guilty or just totally appalled by the whole notion. that's not the only reason... but this can be a post on it's own

• to do tomorrow: call a friend i haven't talked to in a while

alright... that's it for now... gonna be dreaming of a whole new fantasy world i live in... where people live like those guys in OC. haha

"...we few, we happy few, we BAND OF BROTHERS..."

I've finally finished watching Band of Brothers. And man was it good! Cinematography, screenplay, script (although one or two eps are a little too boring for me...not much fighting going on)...

Anyways, what started off as a one time thing triggered a whole new interest in this series... I used to wonder so much why they've won so many awards (6Emmys...congrats HBO, a little late, but nevertheless.) Now I know... just fantastic...and this is one of those films that educates you in history (yeah, i don't know much about what happened in WWII, who what where and when all things happened...haha...never had the drive and interest on the subject...shame) As I was saying it's one of those films that will teach you history and never get bored. The way they reacted to seeing the first concentration camp they have discovered...today we all know the horrors of what happened in those camps... but seeing how they depicted the reactions of those who saw it for the first time... it's moving... Sometimes we take what had happened in the past for granted...man, that scene gave me the chills...

Learned military tactics too (even the order of their rankings...as I followed Maj Winter's journey to the top)

There are three characters in the series that I really indentify with...

1. Doc Roe... one of the three company medics... his readiness in the battlefield... running accross the field to attend to the wounded while others take cover and fire their rifle from a safer position... somehow, he dodged those bullets and bomb shells... he was just really steadfast in executing his work... firm but never loses that calming touch that many of his comrades desperately needed at those critical times... there was one ep that he was the narrator (Ep6:Bastogne) and it just explored his side of the story and how he too faces his weakes moments but at the same time have to collect himself together and attend to his brothers.

2. David Webster... I really like his contemplative nature (being a writer at heart)... just that calmness in him even during battle... there was also an episode when he was the narrator (Ep8:The Patrol...one of the less eventful eps but nevertheless just as good... I dont know how to quite put why I identify with his character... another time maybe...

3. And of course the legendary... Major Richard Winters... his dedication to his company, his drive and passion to excel, his steadfast leadership, lightning fast instincts (always did Ecompany good), and his loyalty to his brothers... those are just his qualities that I do admire... You guys should just watch to know... he's one of the main characters in the series appearing in all the episodes (i think)

Well, what's really captivating about this series is how real it has captured the emotions and actions of the scenes... like I always felt the chaos when they're getting bombed with shells or when a soldier breaks down or when they've finally won the war... And most importantly, the brotherhood of the EASY COMPANY... such bond (well who wouldn't after experiencing all those)... it's just amazing...

Im happy to have my own band of brothers... to you guys... I have known you all two or three years (much like the easy company huh? hehe)... and fought through thick and thin... I just wanna take this time (exploit the mushiness of the post...haha this series is just inspiring) to tell you guys that it has been my greates honour serving, fighting and living along side you guys... My life has become richer by knowing you all... :) todo na to!!! hehe Thanks guys!

Anyways, Im gonna have to end here first... need to get some rest. I'll post about my brothers next time and probably put some pictures :)
